Anna (3Johan William, 2Johan Conrad, 1Jeremias) Hess of Northampton Co PA
Research Note: The information on the descendants of Johan Wilhelm is correct. However, the Evans family, who settled Evansville PA, is not my ancestral line.
Anna Hess was born 5/22/1769 in Northampton Co PA. And in about 1792, Anna migrated in the company of the extended Hess family north and west to what would become Coles Creek, Northumberland (now Columbia) Co PA where her father patented extensive acreage.
Crossing the Susquehanna at Berwick PA, the family moved up the Fishing Creek Valley past Orange to what is now Tri Mills on Cole's Creek where the family built their log cabins. Later, John William's sons moved up the valley and settled on their portions of John William's original warrant. Other members of the extended family, including son-in-law Ezekiel Cole, settled to the south.
In 1793 in Northumberland Co PA, Anna married James Evans b. 4/9/1769 Northampton Co PA. Did James and Anna originally settle on one of the southern sections of Johan William's land?
James and Anna lived the remainder of their lives in what became Columbia Co PA. Anna died 2/4/1842 and is possibly buried at the Old Stone Church in Briar Creek TWP, Columbia Co PA.
