Beverly Randolph Esquire Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, to all to whom the presents shall come greetings: Know ye, that by virtue of a certificate in right of settlement given by the Commissioners for adjusting titles to unpatented lands in the district of Washington and Montgomery and in consideration of the ancient composition of two pounds sterling paid by Francis Wilkerson into the treasury of this Commonwealth there is granted by the said Commonwealth unto the said Francis Wilkerson a certain tract or parcel of land containing four hundred acres by survey bearing date the tenth day of October one thousand seven hundred and eighty three lying and being in the County of Washington on the waters of Thompsons Creek a branch of Clinch River and is bounded as followeth to wit, Beginning at two beeches and black on the east side of a ridge and running thence north twenty nine degrees east sixty one poles to two sugar trees and maple sapling on the south side of a hollow, south sixty six degrees east two hundred and thirty seven poles running along a stoney ridge to a black oak & dogwood, north thirty degrees east sixty three poles to a poplar & lynn on the side of a rich hill, east one hundred and six poles to a white oak and sugar tree on the west side of a hill, south fifty degrees east one hundred and twelve poles to a black oak and poplar sapling on a brushy ridge, south seven degrees west sixty three poles to a chesnut and two dogwoods on a spur, north sixty degrees west sixty one poles to two black oaks on the north side of a steep hill, south eleven degrees west thirty seven poles to a black oak and white oak by a field, south forty two degrees east one hundred and twenty eight poles crossing a branch to a large white oak & white oak sapling on the south side of a meadow, south thirty degrees west eighty three poles to a double black oak & walnut on the south side of a meadow, north forty seven degrees west twenty two poles crossing said branch to two white oaks on the side of a steep hill, north seventeen degrees west fifty five poles to a black oak & dogwood, south seventy eight degrees west thirty poles to a stake on the side of a steep stoney hill, thence crossing the spurs of a large ridge, north fifty nine degrees west four hundred and forty nine poles to the Beginning with its appurtenances; to have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land with its apputenances to the said Francis Wilkerson and his heirs forever. Beverly Randolph Esquire Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, to all to whom the presents shall come greetings: Know ye, that by virtue and in consideration of a pre? treasury warrant number one thousand nine hundred and sixty eight issued the twentieth day of December one thousand seven hundred and eighty one there is granted by the said Commonwealth unto Ericus Smith assignee of Francis Wilkinson a certain tract or parcel of land containing eighty two acres by survey bearing date the fourth day of May one thousand seven hundred and eighty four lying and being in the County of Washington on the waters of Thompsons Creek a branch of Clinch River and is bounded as followeth to wit, Beginning at a double black oak on the south side of a meadow, Samuel Priests corner, and running with his line north thirty degrees east eighty three poles to a large white oak, thence leaving said Priests line and running south sixty nine degrees east seventy one poles to two red oaks by a branch, south nine degrees east eighty seven poles to a white oak by a path, south thirteen degrees west fifty eight poles crossing a branch to two white oaks on a ridge, north eighty three degrees west forty poles to a double dogwood on the side of said ridge, north thirty eight degrees west one hundred and twelve poles to the Beginning with its appurtenances; to have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land with its apputenances to the said Ericus Smith and his heirs forever. Beverly Randolph Esquire Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, to all to whom the presents shall come greetings: Know ye, that by virtue and in consideration of a Land Office treasury warrant number eleven thousand five hundred and twenty three issued the twenty third day of March one thousand seven hundred and eighty two there is granted by the said Commonwealth unto Francis Wilkeson assignee of Aaron Lewis a certain tract or parcel of land containing one hundred acres by survey bearing date the sixth day of September one thousand seven hundred and eighty five lying and being in the County of Washington in the New Garden on Andrew Lynam's fork of Thompsons Creek the waters of Clinch River & bounded as followeth to wit, Beginning at a white oak by said creek, thence south sixty four degrees west forty poles to a lynn and cucumber, north thirteen degrees west fifty poles to a sugar tree, north seventy seven degrees west sixty eight poles to a black oak, north twenty degrees west seventy poles to a black oak north sixty degrees east one hundred and thirty eight poles to a white oak & dogwood, south fifty three degrees east eighteen poles to two walnuts, south two degrees east one hundred and seventy poles to the Beginning with its appurtenances; to have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land with its appurtenances to the said Francis Wilkeson and his heirs forever.
