Mary (1John) Woodard of Isle of Wight Co VA
Mary Woodard was born in about 1710 in Isle of Wight Co VA. And, she would have grown up on the family property a little south of Franklin VA (now Southampton Co VA).
Reportedly in 1730, Mary was wed to Joshua Lee b. 1706 Nansemond Co VA. The citation for that marriage comes from the 2/1765 will for John Woodard who names "daughter Mary Lee." Interestingly, Joshua and Mary would have grown up within about 4 miles from each other down the Chowan River; Mary on the Virginia side and Joshua on the North Carolina side of the border.
Mary and Joshua lived their lives on Joshua's property in what would become Edgecombe Co NC. Mary is last documented in her father's 2/1765 will.
