Rebecca (3Allen, 2Thomas, 1William) Cox of South Carolina
Rebecca Cox was born 5/30/1780 in Old 96 Dist. (now Newberry Co) SC. We know that both of her parents were dead by 2/1794; as Rebecca and her other minor siblings chose Elisha Brooks as their guardian.
In about 1798 in Newberry Co SC, Rebecca married Zebulon Savage, Jr. b. 1/4/1779 Guilford Co NC. Zebulon and Rebecca are enumerated in the 1800 through 1830 Laurens Co SC Censuses.
Rebecca died 1/9/1835 and is buried in a plot which is located outside of the fence at Bethlehem Cemetery, Waterloo SC. Her tombstone was not found until recently because the original transcription of the cemetery had incorrect dates. Careful scrutiny of this photo shows the correct dates.
