Michael C. (³Jacob, ²Anthony, ¹Jacob) Miller

Michael Miller was born in 3/9/1824 in Licking Co OH. Michael is first found enumerated in the 1830 Licking Co OH Census, living with his parents.

In about 1852 in Licking Co OH, Michael married Rachael Bierley b. 1830 in the Duchy of Wurttemburg (Germany). Rachel's last name was recorded as Burley according to daughter Louisa's death record.

Michael and Rachel lived their lives in Licking Co OH, but Rachael died in 1868 in Licking Co OH.

In 1870 Michael is found living in the home of his younger brother, Jacob. Rachael is dead, and the children are dispersed, evidently to make their way in the world. On 11/7/1878, Michael married Laura Matthew b. 1844 in Ohio. Michael and Lora or Laura are recorded in the 1880 Licking Co OH Census. And, youngest son Virgil is back in the home.

Sometime between 1880 and 1892, Michael and Lora migrated to Coffee Co TN. Why would an Ohio farmer migrate to the previously Confederate State of Tennessee? Michael died on 9/28/1892 in Manchester TN. Lora outlived him by 28 years, dying on 10/9/1920 in Coffee Co TN. Both are buried in Manchester City Cemetery, Coffee Co TN.
