Generation #1

Johann Emerich Nunnemacher

Johann Emerich Nunnemacher was born 1696 in Weyer, Palatinate of the Rhine (Germany). Johann's date of birth is calculated from his stated age as 45 when he immigrated to America in 1741. On 1/26/1717 in the Palatinate of the Rhine, Johann married Barbara Goesler b. c. 1699 Palatinate of the Rhine. And, their children were born in the Palatinate of the Rhine.

Located between the Main and Upper Rhine rivers and extending south to Switzerland, the Rhenish Pfalz was devastated by wars between Catholic France and Protestant German states, overpopulation, heavy taxation, and exceptionally harsh winters between 1708 and 1719. Conditions were rife for ex-migration. [Palatinate Immigration] Johann and family immigrated 9/29/1741 to Philadelphia PA aboard the Lydia, originally out of Rotterdam, Netherlands and last from Deal, England.

Johann and family migrated north to Bucks Co PA and purchased land in Rockhill Twp which became known as Ingram's Hill vic. Naceville PA. And, Johann became a naturalized citizen on 9/24/1762 in Philadelphia PA

From his 1776 will we learn that he was a joiner [carpenter] by trade and that he had married another woman named Judith. Johann wrote his will on 1/16/1776 and died before 5/20/1777 in Bucks Co PA.
