Catherine (2Hendrick, 2Jochem, 1Hendrick) Schoonmaker

Catherine Schoonmaker was born c. 1720 in Kingston, Ulster Co NY. But, the record for her Christening is missing. Catherine's parentage and marriage to Willem DeVoor is established from Colonial New Jersey records.

On 6/13/1740 in Morris (now Sussex) Co NJ, Catherine married Willem DeVoor b. 11/6/1711 New York NY. Interestingly, Catherine is listed as "spinster," indicating she was at least twenty years old. Catherine and Willem lived in Minisink until about 1778 when they migrated to Bedford Co PA.

A William Devore is found enumerated in the 1784. Catherine is enumerated in 1786 the Bedford Co PA Censuses. Willem and Catherine are believed to have died, exact dates unknown, in Bedford Co PA.
