Michael (1Hans George) Weaver of Licking Co OH

Michael Weaver was born 1785 in Shenandoah Co VA. Michael is first found 6/2/1810 in Shenandoah Co VA where he married Mary Sager b. 1788 Hardy Co (W) VA.

Michael and Mary migrated after 9/1827 to Licking Co OH. With so late a migration date, Michael and family would have been able to take well established roads west to Ohio. His probable route would have gone up the Wagon Road to Winchester, northwest on the Pioneer Road to the Cumberland Road, then northwest to Zane's Trace, and the west to central Ohio.

We know Michael and family were in Licking Co OH by 1827 and the birth of son Joseph. And, we know this is the same Michael from Virginia; as he was recorded as Complainant in a lawsuit back in Shenandoah Co VA in 11/1829 over the total acreage of the family plantation.

Michael and Mary lived their lives in Licking Co OH, raising twelve children. Unfortunately, Mary died 12/2/1838. On 1/15/1840 in Licking Co OH, Michael married Sarah Burkholder b. 4/4/1812 in Pennsylvania. They, some of Michael's older children, and the new couple's young children are listed in the 1850 Licking Co OH Census.

Michael died 1/5/1855 in Licking Co OH. He is buried next to first wife, Mary Sager, in Marple Cemetery, Newton Twp, Licking Co OH. Sarah and Michael's children are found in the 1860 Licking Co OH Census, living on the family farm.
