John (²Henry, ¹Henry) Overstreet of Emanuel Co GA

John Overstreet was born 1774 St. George's Parrish GA. In about 1794, John married Catherine Carr (Catherine Goodwin?) b. c. 1775 in Georgia. John, Catherine, and children migrated to Wayne Co MS in 1819.

John Overstreet and family are first found enumerated in the 1820 Wayne Co MS Census. By 1830 John and Catherine were probably retired; as son Stephen is listed as head of household in the 1830 Wayne Co MS Census. John may not have moved, but son Jacob is found as head of household in the 1840 Wayne Co MS Census. Additionally, Catherine is not found and is believed to have died before 1840.

John Overstreet is last found in the 1850 Clarke Co MS Census, living with son Stephen. And, John died 1855 in Clarke Co MS.
