Mary (2John, 1John) Fairley of Richmond Co NC
Mary Fairley was born 10/22/1794 in Richmond Co NC. She migrated with her family in about 1818 to Jackson Co MS. In about 1819 in Mississippi, Mary wed Daniel Ira Taylor b. 1/1/1785 in Greenock, Scotland. Proof for this marriage comes from a Taylor Family Bible which was in the possession of the descendants of Joseph Wetherbee and May Virginia Taylor Wetherbee.
Mary and Daniel are first found in the 1820 Jackson Co MS Census. Living next to them is "John Farley," Mary's father.
For the next ten years, Daniel and Mary lived in close proximity to her family. With the change in county boundaries before 1830, Daniel is found in Greene Co MS and John Fairley is found in Perry Co MS. Proof that these are the same families comes from the almost exact match of family members enumerated in each separate census.
Mary is last enumerated in the 1830 Census. Mary died sometime before 1840 when the family is found in Wayne Co MS.
