Mary Jane McPhearson was born 12/13/1856 Jasper Co MS. After the death of her mother, Mary Jane was raised by in the home of maternal grandparents by her Taylor aunts and uncles. 

In about 1875, she married Willis Bonaparte Lewis b. 1848 Jasper Co MS. Willis and Mary Jane had ten children and were married for almost 50 years.
