William Wesley (4Lorenzo Dow, 3William, 2William, 1James) McPhearson
William Wesley McPhearson was born 4/9/1827 Laurens Co SC. Of note, William Wesley was named for his two oldest uncles from the Savage Family. The McPhearson Family migrated to Tuscaloosa Co AL circa 1837 and then to Lowndes Co MS by 1850. The family is enumerated in the 1850 Lowndes Co MS Census; however, son William Wesley is missing.
In 1851 William Wesley McPhearson migrated to Jasper Co MS. And in 1851, William Wesley married Jane Taylor b. 12/15/1822 in Jackson Co MS. William Wesley and Jane lived together in Jasper Co MS until the Civil War, raising six children. William enlisted in Co. G, 8th Mississippi Infantry (Tolson Guards) at the outbreak of the war. After the war, he and Jane took up their lives again. But Jane died 11/1866 in Jasper Co MS.
In 1869 in Jasper Co MS, William Wesley married Martha Moulds b. 6/2/1844 in Mississippi. William and Martha lived together in Jasper Co MS, having two additional children. William died 12/101909 in Jasper Co MS. And, Martha died shortly thereafter on 7/11/1911 in Jasper Co MS. Both are buried at Pleasant Grove Methodist Church, Rose Hill MS.
