Willis Bonaparte Lewis of Jasper Co MS was born in 12/15/1849. He is
first enumerated at the family home in the 1850 Jasper Co MS Census at age 2. In
about 1875, Willis married Mary Jane McPhearson b. 12/13/1856 in Jasper Co MS.
Grandpa Sharpe and Mary Jane lived their lives in Jasper Co MS on his
father's original property. A 1973 letter from A.E. Smith, Jr. of Texas
tells the story of Willis' older brother Walden traveling in 1928 by Model A
Ford back to Jasper Co MS after a 30 year absence. Upon arrival, Walden was
surprised to find that the original homestead did not look the same as it had
the last time he was there. The photo of the three Lewis brothers on the Simeon
Thomas Lewis page, provided by a descendant of Jacob Lewis, documents
this story.

From a 1935 newspaper article:
W. B. Lewis, of Homewood who is 87 years old, still lives on the
plantation on which he was born. He has been living in the same house
for the past 38 years. . .He takes periodic horseback jaunts four and
five miles in length.

Grandpa Sharpe's long life was celebrated by his family and
friends. A 1939 newspaper article states:
Willis B. Lewis of Pachuta, Route 1 was ninety years of age on
December 15. Mr. Lewis is the father of nine living children who were present at
the home on the occasion and thirty grandchildren and twenty-five
great-grandchildren
He is active mentally and physically and relates incidents of
three wars, and was able to walk to the the dining room and partake of the
lovely birthday dinner. . .Mr. Lewis is living on the same site where he was
born and has been a steward in the Methodist church for fifty-nine years.
Grandpa Sharpe lived to be 92 years old. He and Mary Jane are
buried at Rose Hill Methodist Church, Rose Hill, Mississippi.

-Confounding research even further, Amon and Jane are double 1st

McPhearson.
-Amon named son Willice Rouse for her father Willis B. Lewis.
-Amon named son Mosley for her great grandmother, Polly Moseley.
