Lydia Frances (³Jacob, ²Jacob, ¹Isaac) Hutto

Lydia Francis Hutto was born in 1829 in Wayne Co MS. Lydia Frances appears in the both the 1830 and 1840 Wayne Co MS Censuses in the home of her parents.

In 1845, Lydia Frances married Simeon Thomas Lewis b. 1820 Greene Co MS. Lydia Frances and Simeon Thomas settled in Jasper Co MS and raised a family. But, their lives would be forever altered by the onrushing Civil War.

Despite his advanced age, Simeon Thomas enlisted in the Confederate Army. And, he was killed in 1863 during the Vicksburg Campaign. Lydia would live another 27 years as a widow. She is last found in the 1880 Jasper Co MS Census living in the family home with her four youngest children
