Johann Heinrich (2Conrad B., 1Hans David) Billman

Johann Heinrich Bielman/Billman aka Henry Billman was born 10/15/1776 in Northampton (now Lehigh) Co PA. And, the family migrated 9/1795 to Cumberland (now Perry) Co PA 

Henry migrated by 1800 to Washington Co PA. And, this journey would have been a relatively easy move on Forbes Road to far west Pennsylvania. Johann Heinrich's brothers Conrad, Jr. and David were in Washington County at the same time. In about 1801 in Washington Co PA, Henry married his next door neighbor, Mary "Polly" Divan b. 1782 Washington Co PA.

In 1806 the family packed up and migrated to Belmont Co OH, just down the road and across the Ohio River. Evidently, Henry migrated in the company of father-in-law, Leonard Divan; as both families are found in the 1811 Belmont Co OH Tax List. This migration date is set by son Joseph's 1807 birth in Ohio. After 1816, Henry Billman and related families are found in Coshocton Co OH land records:

A settlement of Germans came in early, perhaps in 1815, most of them from Beaver county, Pennsylvania. Among them were Peter Ault, who entered the southwest quarter of section 23; Leonard Divan, the southwest quarter of section 18 and the northwest quarter of section 23; his two sons, John and Henry, the latter owning the northwest quarter of section 22; Henry Billman, the southwest quarter of section 21; George Sossaman, the southeast quarter of section 15; Frederick Shrake, the southeast quarter of section 23, and Jacob Shrake, the north half of the southeast quarter of section 19. The last mentioned moved to Wisconsin, and from last accounts was still living.

Henry and Polly lived the remainder of their lives on the family farm in Coshocton Co OH and were active in the local Lutheran Church:

The Evangelical Lutheran church was organized about 1835. The first minister was Jacob Seidle. Rev. S. Kammerer had previously held services in the neighborhood. The leading early members were Henry Billman, Henry Divan, George Sossaman, Henry Keifer and Solomon Exline.

Polly died before 1840; as she is not found enumerated in that census. Henry is not found in the 1850 census. Perhaps he was out visiting one of his many children when the census taker came by. Henry died 1854 in Coshocton Co OH.

Johann George Grimm and Catherina Hess were sponsors.
Henry Billman purchased in Mar-1803, 116 acres, with brother David Billman in Somerset, Washington, Pennsylvania called "Dauphin."
