Susannah (1Christian)  Stout of Licking Co OH

Susannah Stout was born 1/23/1804 in Northampton Co PA. From the 1880 Licking Co OH Census, we learn that both of Susannah's parents were born in Pennsylvania.

In 4/1805 the Stout Family migrated as part of the larger Hess family to Luzerne Co PA where her father was later well documented. In 1823 in Luzerne Co PA, Susannah married John Evans b. 3/22/1796 Northumberland Co PA.

Sometime around 1830, John, Susannah and family migrated to Licking Co OH. With this late date of migration, the route would have been fairly easy. Starting in central Pennsylvania, the family would have traveled south and west down to the intersection with the the Germantown Pike and the ferry at Harrisburg, crossing the river then west on Forbes Road toward Pittsburg then down Zane's Trace to central Ohio.

John and Susannah are first found enumerated in the 1840 Licking Co OH Census. And, the family is also found in the 1850 through 1870 censuses for Licking County.

John died 7/28/1871 in Licking Co OH. Susannah is last found enumerated in the home of George Benear. Interestingly, she has been described as a boarder. Why wouldn't have Susan lived in the home of one of her many descendants? Or, is George also a relative?

Susanna died 6/2/1883 in Licking Co OH. Her place of burial is not known.
