There is a yDNA connection between this person and my ancestor, Walden Lewis b. c. 1774 Spotsylvania Co VA. yDNA confirms an exact match (67/67) to some tests. And, there are close (66/67) matches and almost close (65/67) matches. All of theses matches deserve research to determine how the different families are related.

This analysis focuses on the 37/37 match to John Lewis of Franklin Co KY. According to the many censuses, John Lewis of Franklin Co KY was born about 1782 in North Carolina. However, in the 1870 Census we learn that he was born in Virginia. And from his tombstone, we learn that he was born in 1788. So, what's the answer? The earlier censuses are probably right.
After exhaustive research, we learn that there was only one John Lewis in Franklin Co KY as early as 1805. And, he is the documented son of Fielding Lewis of Caswell Co NC. Additionally, we learn that John's son, Lewis Walker Lewis, named one of his sons, Fielding C. Lewis, continuing the Fielding name in this family. [Franklin Co KY Research]
John Lewis of Franklin Co KY was born about 1782 in Caswell Co NC and was the youngest son of Fielding Lewis.
From the Caswell Co NC records, we learn that John sold lands inherited from his father's estate. And as early as 1805, he is cited as John Lewis of Franklin Co KY.
In Franklin Co KY, John is first documented in the 1810 Census in his new home. And in that census, John is about 4 persons down from Henry Lewis which causes confusion.
On 11/28/1810 in Franklin Co KY, John married Patsy Pruett b. 8/8/1789 in Virginia. John and Patsy lived the remainder of their lives in Franklin Co KY.
